Adult Academy Programmes available from Spring 2025 〰️
Registrations for our Spring 2025 Academy Programmes are now open!
Registrations for our Spring 2025 Hit IT (Batting - 6 week) and Bowl IT (Pace Bowling - 4 week) Academy Programmes are now open! Places are limited as the programmes are built to allow players greater opportunities to explore and refine their methods, as well as developing other areas of performance including tactical, physical and mental aspects of the game of cricket. They are designed for players with experience of hard ball cricket and not for beginners.
What’s included in the Academy Batting Programmes?
The programmes last for 6 weeks and are designed for U12-U18 Boys, U13 upwards with regards to the Women & Girls and 16 years + for Adult programmes. The programmes will take place on a Saturday at The King’s School Macclesfield. Groups will be split on age and experience. Each programme will support a maximum of 9 players, as this allows for a more individualised level of support. Players will need to sign up for the full 6 week programme and will be confirmed on the course on a first come, first served basis. The cost of the course includes equipment such as bowling machines as well as Cricket Centre hire charges and coaching support.
The BATTING programme would look to cover the following themes:
Setting up physically to score runs - Grip / Alignment / Balance
Setting up mentally to score runs - Strengths / Plans / Mindset / Zones
Technical Insights - Understanding strengths, performance gaps and refining technical proficiency
Maximising run scoring - v spin / v pace / v swing / Innovation / Running between the wickets / Accessing more options / Increasing power and hand speed
Tactical insights - Being a step ahead /Phases / Rules / Win 4-2 Principle / Gaps / Manipulating the field
Sport Psychology – P = P - I / Routines / Dealing with distractions / Cultivating a growth mindset / Secure basics / Being resilient / Performance under pressure / Reflecting
Athletic development - Agility / Endurance / Strength / Stamina / Balance and stability
Setting YOUR Performance Profile - Knowing YOUR game and how to prepare to perform
Leadership - Leadership opportunities to develop confident individuals and future captains
Dates
Saturday 4 January - Saturday 8 February 2025 (6 weeks)
Times: 9am - 11am (16 years + to Adult) & 11am - 1pm (Boys & girls U12 - U18)
Cost: £270 for 6 x 2 hour sessions
What’s included in the Academy Pace Bowling Programme?
The programme will support a maximum of 12 players, as this allows for a more individualised level of support. The programme is for U12-U18 players in respect of the boys’ programmes and U13 upwards with regards to the Women & Girls’ programmes. The charge for the course will cover any equipment costs as well as Cricket Centre hire charges and coaching support costs. Due to booking fees we would need players to sign up for the whole 4 weeks, and players will be signed up on a first come first served basis.
The PACE BOWLING 4 week programme would look to cover the following themes:
Setting up physically to take wickets - Grip / Alignment / Balance / Run up / Running integrity
Setting up mentally to take wickets - Strengths / Plans / Mindset
Technical Insights - Understanding strengths, performance gaps and refining technical proficiency
Wicket taking – Strengths / Movement / Variations / Angles / Tools
Tactical insights – Being a step ahead / Plans / Phases / Win 4-2 principle / Setting fields to enhance performance and wicket taking
Sport psychology - P = P - I / Routines / Dealing with distractions / Cultivating a growth mindset / Secure basics / Being resilient / Performance under pressure / Reflecting
Athletic development – Running integrity / Strength and power / Agility / Propreorception / Balance and stability
Setting YOUR Performance Profile - Knowing YOUR game and how to prepare to perform
